DoHo Doghouse House Rules 🐾

Because happy dogs and happy humans make the perfect stay.

DoHo House Rules

1. Vaccinations & Health

All dogs must be up-to-date with core vaccinations: Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, and Kennel Cough (Bordetella).

Vaccination certificates must be shown before your first stay and updated with us each year.

Dogs must be treated for fleas and worms within the last month of arrival.

We can’t accept dogs showing signs of illness, injury, or contagious conditions (including kennel cough, vomiting, diarrhoea).

2. Temperament & Behaviour

We welcome friendly, social dogs who enjoy the company of other dogs and humans.

Dogs must not display aggression or excessive anxiety. If unsure, we can arrange a trial day before boarding.

For everyone’s safety, we may refuse a booking if we believe your dog’s behaviour could put others at risk.

3. Age & Neutering

Puppies are welcome from 6 months if fully vaccinated and house-trained.

All males over 12 months must be neutered.

Bitches in season or due to come into season during their stay cannot be accommodated.

4. Food & Feeding

Please provide enough of your dog’s regular food for their stay, in labelled containers or portions.

We follow your instructions for feeding times and quantities.

Treats are included (with your approval), but we won’t change diets without prior discussion.

5. Personal Comforts

You’re welcome to bring your dog’s favourite blanket, bed, or toy; familiar scents help them settle.

Please label all belongings; while we take care, we can’t guarantee items won’t get a little “dog-loved.”

6. Medication

We can administer most oral or topical medications free of charge.

All medication must be in original packaging, clearly labelled with your dog’s name and dosage instructions.

Injections (e.g., insulin) by prior agreement only.

7. Safety & Supervision

Dogs are never left unattended for more than two hours.

Outdoor play is always fully supervised outside our own secure, fenced areas.

Dogs are kept on harnesses during walks, unless specified by the owner that it is OK to release them.

8. Bookings & Payments

A 25% deposit secures your booking; the balance is due 7 days before arrival.

For day care, payment is due on the day unless you have a pre-paid package.

Cancellations within 7 days of arrival are non-refundable.

9. Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Standard hours: Monday–Saturday 9am–6:30pm

Early drop-off and late pick-up available for a small fee (by prior arrangement).

Please arrive on time as it keeps the day calm for the dogs.

10. Emergencies

If your dog needs veterinary care, we will contact you immediately.

In urgent cases, we may take your dog to our nominated vet to ensure prompt treatment.

All vet costs remain the owner’s responsibility.

11. Photos & Updates

We love sharing your dog’s happy moments with you during their stay.

By booking, you consent to us sending you photos and, occasionally, featuring them (first name only) on our social channels ….unless you opt out.

We keep these rules simple for a reason:

They help every dog enjoy a safe, calm, and tail-waggingly good time here at DoHo Doghouse. 🐾
